A museum dedicated to our rich music heritage was inaugurated in 2019 by the President of the Republic and by representatives of our parent Ministry. It is the first and only of its kind in Mauritius. Built over a space of 100m2 and over two levels, it presents the history and development of music in Mauritius since the Dutch period.

The museum includes over 200 music instruments donations from many countries, as well as acquisitions made by the CNMFM. It also hosts the largest collection of unique handwritten music compositions by Mauritian composers of the 19^th century. All these compositions have already been photocopied and digitalized.
